AS3 Hanging up
I have worn myself trying to get AS3 to work on my FMPSA11 server. I've tried the special version of AS3 with the re-use jdbc, and the regular application.
AS3 seems to work "sometimes", but frequently hangs - meaning you can not cleanly shut down My AutoSender services - even going to the Services panel doesn't work - you can not shut down the hung service, and it will never self-correct. The only option is to literally restart the server! I can not do this as a regular occurrence.
Sometimes after re-booting the server, I will get this message
from the server:
Error: May 3, 2011 3:24:49 PM AutoSenderJDBC.checkSource:
SQLException "[FileMaker][FileMaker JDBC] Connection refused. Check
that the host address and port are correct and that xDBC sharing is
enabled on the host." thrown while connecting to database
ALL files related to the solution are open for ODBC, so this is not very helpful.
Bottom line here - I do NOT think this software is stable, or ready for anyone to use with FileMaker Server Advanced v11.

Hi Alan,
Can you confirm which messages you are seeing in the log when the issues occur ?
Also, the error message after a reboot may be caused by the fact that the AutoSender daemon is already running while the FMS ODBC engine is still starting up.
